Delete account
Removing your account
Take a copy first if you want one.
Deletion is permanent and there is nothing to restore from afterwards. In
the app, Settings → Privacy → Encrypted backup writes a
.lamentbak file — set a passphrase, because without one the file
is only scrambled with a key built into the app. Export as PDF
writes a readable, unencrypted one. Both are yours to keep anywhere.
The fastest way is in the app
Open the You tab to reach Settings, scroll to the bottom, and choose Delete my account under Danger zone. It asks you to confirm, then removes everything immediately. There is no waiting period and no queue.
If you no longer have the app
Email support@wayfarersdigital.com with the subject Account deletion request, from the address you signed up with.
Requests are actioned within 30 days and in practice much sooner, and you will get a confirmation when it is done. We may need to check you control the address before deleting, so that nobody else can delete your journal.
What is removed
- Your account and its sign-in credentials, whether you signed in with Google, Microsoft, or an email address
- Every entry, including drafts
- All generated artwork
- Every reflection, psalm and companion generated from your entries
- Your tags, posture history, and anything the patterns view was built from
- Your settings, reminders, and app preferences
- Your app PIN, if you set one
Nothing is archived and nothing is retained afterwards. Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
There is nothing to cancel. Nothing in the app charges you, so deleting your account leaves no billing behind it.
Two things that survive, and why
- Files you exported yourself. Backups and PDFs live outside the app, wherever you saved them, so deleting the account cannot reach them. Delete those separately if you want them gone.
- Text you sent for an AI reflection was processed by Google under their terms. If you never used the AI features, nothing was ever sent.
Uninstalling the app on its own removes only the local copy. Your account and its entries stay until you delete them, which is deliberate: an uninstall is usually a new phone, not a decision to erase years of writing.
